Happy Monday! I hope you're having a nice day. It's my birthday today, and I'm having a nice day so far. I'm really hoping to have some time to sit and read this evening. I'm looking forward to that!
Recent Reviews and Other Posts
Last week, I wrote a review of Crossing the Rubicon by R.C. Richter. I'm giving away a copy so be sure to enter before midnight tonight!
I also published an interview with author Patricia Bracewell.
I'm currently reading The Forever Year by Lou Aronica. I'm really enjoying this one!
What C is Reading
C read The Genius Files: You Only Die Twice by Dan Gutman last week. He really loves this series and is not happy that he has to wait another year for the next one to come out! He's also reading Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl at school. I read that one aloud to him a couple years ago. I have to say I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
M received three of the Rainbow Magic early readers last week, and she and I have been reading those a lot. I'm so glad I got them for her because, although they are challenging, she can read them herself. She got Pet Fairies to the Rescue, Best Friends in Fairyland and The Fairy Treasure Hunt. She seems to be enjoying all of them. Unlike the chapter books we've been reading, these don't feature the two girls, Rachel and Kirsty. But they do feature the fairies, who go on fun adventures in each book.
Up Next for Me
Once I finish The Forever Year, I'll be starting Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. I have to get the actual book from the library. I got the ebook last week, but never got a chance to read it. They only let you borrow ebooks for a week, which is not long enough to read this book!
What are you reading this week? It's Monday! is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, so hop over there if you'd like to see what others are reading too.Want to see more children's book reviews? Check out the Children's Bookshelf.
