It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Good morning. I hope you had a good weekend. I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday all weekend. I went out to a couple delicious dinners and got to sleep in late on Saturday morning. It was nice.

I got a lot of writing done last week. First, I wrote up my month in review for January. I read more than I had expected to in January. I also started making progress on two of the challenges I'm participating in this year.

I wrote a review of a memoir called Repairing Rainbows by Lynda Fishman. I also wrote a review of a thriller called Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith. And I wrote a review of Murder on the Down Low by Pamela Samuels Young.

Currently Reading
I'm now reading Room by Emma Donoghue. This is my February book club book. I'm about halfway through the book and it's good. I've been wanting to read it for a while, so I'm glad to finally be getting to it! I'm also reading Elephant Talk by Anne Downer.

Up Next
I'm not sure what I'll move onto next. I have Final Vector by Allan Leverone to read for review. And I have several other books on my shelf and on my Nook that I've been wanting to read for a while. I'm also planning to write some reviews this week, including The Water is Wide and The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary.

What are you reading this week? This meme is being hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, so hop over there if you'd like to see what others are reading too.

Getting back to blogging

It seems that blogging has dropped to the bottom of my list for the past year, and was pretty low for the year or two prior to that. I love to read, and am continuing to do so, but as my regular readers know I haven't been around much. My last blog post was almost a year ago!!

There are many things that have taken me away from blogging. Work has been much more challenging and interesting these past few years, but that means I really don't want to get back on the computer when I get home at night - or on the weekends.

Family life has been more busy with kids having multiple activities in the evenings, leaving little time to just hang out and write about the books that I read.

I will admit to a bit of a Facebook addiction, which means way too much time spent scrolling through my newsfeed instead of doing something more productive. This is one of the things I'm working on and hoping that this will free up some time for getting back to the blog.

Overall, life is good. Work is …
