Summer Reading Challenge: Month One Recap

We're one month into the Summer Reading Challenge so I figured I'd see how everyone is doing. First of all, can you believe one-third of the summer is already over? I have a very hard time believing that. It's going by too fast!! I need to spend more time at the pool!

How are you doing with the Summer Reading Challenge? Have you read many of the books on your list yet? Are you keeping up with the pace you expected? Or are you finding the summer activities getting in the way of reading? Have you made a lot of changes to your list? Leave a comment and let us know how you're doing! If you've written a post about your progress on your own blog, be sure to leave a link so we can check it out.

As for me, I'm keeping a great pace. I've completed 4 of 12 books, so if I read 4 during each of the remaining months, I'll finish up right on schedule. I'm fitting in some other books as well, which I had expected. I hope you're all enjoying your summer reading too!

By the way, if you're writing reviews for the books you're reading for this challenge, be sure to add links to the Summer Reading Challenge Reviews linky!

  2. Hmmmmm....... I've gotten through a lot of what I wanted to read. Not all, I found some new books at the library in a series I've followed for years, so I got sidetracked by that.

  3. So far I've only gotten through 2 of my original list :( I'm reading one now not on that list, but it's so long(1000pgs)that it's taking me forever! It's 1st picking up now 1/2 way through. It's a good thing I like the characters and want to get through the whole series or I would have given up because it's not a pg turner.

  4. I keep adding to and changing my book list, but I am getting quite a bit of reading completed. I'm very glad to be reading as much as I am.

Freedom to Read Giveaway Hop

I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and Mundie Moms are hosting the Freedom to Read Giveaway Hop in honor of Independence Day in the United States, and I've decided to participate.

To stick with the theme of Independence Day, I'm doing what I did last year for this hop:

I'm giving away a book of your choice that is written by an author from the United States.
It can be any genre as long as the author is from the United States. You choose the book (up to $15), and I'll order it and have it mailed to you from Book Depository.

The contest ends on Thursday, July 5th at midnight Eastern Time. The winner will be notified by e-mail. If they do not respond within 48 hours, a new winner will be drawn.

Happy 4th of July! I hope you have a safe and fun holiday!
