This week, I'm going to focus on one book that would be perfect for Father's Day, which is coming up on June 20th. Because I am Your Daddy by Sherry North is a new picture book that is about all the things a daddy would do for his child. If he were a pilot, he would fly his daughter to school. If he were a baseball player, he'd hit the ball to her in the stands. In the story, North goes through all sorts of scenarios from the daddy being a librarian or ranger to an alien or a wizard. It's very cute and M has really enjoyed having her daddy read this book to her througout the week.
The watercolor illustrations show the love between the dad and daughter as they go through all these scenarios. Although the picture shows a girl, the things he does are not gender specific. It's just a collection of sweet examples of the things a dad would do for his child. I definitely recommend it if you have young kids ~ especially if dad is looking for a book to read to his kids.

[Note: I'm also still working out the kinks in this new template so try to ignore the strange arrangement of images above! Eventually I'll figure out the problem.]
Didn't see any strange arrangement, so you must have worked them out by this time.
ReplyDeleteI'm adding that one to our Father's Day reading list - thanks!
