Friday Book Blogger Hop!


Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books hosts the weekly Book Blogger Hop on Fridays. So, if you talk about books on your blog, stop over and add your link! If you're just looking for a list of some great book blogs to read, head over to Crazy for Books and start hopping!

I want to say THANK YOU once again to all of my new followers who came over from the Hop over the past few weeks! I'm officially an "Old" blog this week because I've surpassed 50 followers! To celebrate, I held a giveaway this week, and three of my followers won books:
If you're considering following My Book Retreat, here are some things to know. First, I read a combination of fiction and nonfiction, mostly historical fiction, thrillers and memoirs. I don't read fantasy, paranormal or romance books. I loved the first two books in the Hunger Games series, but I haven't found a many other young adult books that I've liked. I did read Twilight and liked it, but not enough to take the time to read the rest in the series. I guess I like more realistic storylines.

I'm a slow reader compared to most book bloggers. I'm lucky to finish one book each week, although I will occasionally finish two. I try to publish at least one adult book review each week. I also participate in a weekly meme called What My Children Are Reading, and occasionally publish longer reviews of picture books or early readers.
