Week in Review

Hi. I hope you had a nice couple of weeks. This is my kids' last week of summer vacation, so we're pretty busy here getting ready. I've found time to read, though, so here's a recap of what I've been reading and blogging about.

What I'm Reading
I started three different books over the past two weeks, but couldn't get into the first two so I picked up a third that's been on my TBR shelf for a long time: The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. Wow! What a great book! I still have a long way to go but it sure is a fast read!!

Up Next for Me
I don't think I'm going to go back to the two review books I put aside, so I'm not sure what I'll pick up next. I have a nonfiction book for review, What the Hell is Going on in My Life? by Larry Schwimmer. I may try that next. I have a friend who is an astrologer and she has taught me a lot, so I'm curious to see how this one lives up to some of the other books I have on the subject. Of course, I may just have to buy the next Chaos Walking book when I finish this one!

What C is Reading
I can finally give an update on C's reading at least! He got the newest Origami Yoda book: The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppet by Tom Angleberger. He's loving it as much as the others in the series.

What are you reading this week? It's Monday! is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, so hop over there if you'd like to see what others are reading too.

  1. I put The Knife of Never Letting Go on my wishlist immediately after reading your post here. I hadn't heard of it but I checked it out on Goodreads for the blurb and it looks intense and different and worth the read. I am reading Brilliance right now, which is a quirky type of book perhaps similar in scope to this one you read. Enjoy the rest of your week reading!

    1. I'm glad I inspired you to check that book out. It's very good! Enjoy your week!

  2. Hi, Julie -

Thanks for the warm welcome back!

So excited you are reading the Chaos Walking series, too! Isn't the first one good? Don't you just love the dog's thoughts? lol I liked it so much that I moved onto the second book, even though I hadn't planned to read it this summer. And you're right - despite their length, they are quick reads.

Enjoy this last week of summer! Personally, I am counting the days until next Wednesday when they are both off to school!

Great Books for Kids and Teens

    Book By Book

    1. I finished the first book last night and was so mad!! Ugh! What an ending! My library has the next one available in ebook format, so I think I'm just going to download it and start reading tonight.

  3. Loved the Chaos Walking series. If I didn't have so many books piled up, I'd reread it.

    1. I can't believe it's taken me so long to start it!

Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
